Well, as some of you may know this last week has been a rough one for Monolith. Between wiping time after time on farmed content and struggling with the fact that the new $175 Dolce and Gabbana couture Super Mario t-shirts didn't come in XXL, nothing seemed to be going our way.

As a new week started various questions were running through the heads of every member of the guild. Would we break up due to increasing apprehension over the upcoming expansion? Could we possibly find a way to get out of our recent slump? Would the growing negativity catch up with us and prove to be our downfall? Was Monoliths reign over for good? Will Prince’s new Las Vegas stage show propel him back into super-stardom, reasserting him as the unparalleled pop, funk and soul innovator we all remember?

Monolith proved why we have been around for so long, showing more character than ever before and answered all of these questions with a resounding “NP”.

We began the week clearing our usual bosses in Naxx, then completed our very first one night clear of AQ40 (except Viscidius, an unnamed guild won’t sell us their strats). After this, we found ourselves in a position to spend two nights working on Maexxna. The first night didn’t go so well. On our second real night of tries we vanquished the giant spider in what was probably the closest finish of Monoliths illustrious raiding history (thanks for FDing PT, we couldn’t have ticked off that last 1% without you face down), thus capping one of the most productive and gratifying weeks in Monolith history.
